Within my thesis I would really like to present the primary theories and perspectives in postcolonialism in literature. There was already a whole lot of theories written on this subject. Consequently , I do not need to only present these ideas but as well find their particular main ideas in practice. It means applying them on literary works that are said to be portion of the postcolonial books. For this functional part I've chosen two authors вЂ“ Salman Rushdie and Zadie Smith. I have deliberately picked these two because they differ in many aspects. To begin with, all their country of origin differs. Rushdie comes from India (Pakistan) where he was developed and then moved to Britain. Zadie Smith was already born in Britain and " onlyвЂќ one of her parents is Jamaican. Although Rushdie was created in India, it was only in 1947 вЂ“ precisely the same year India gained the independence; we all cannot declare he had a first-hand connection with colonialism. Concerning this aspect we can assign both of them for the second technology of postcolonial authors вЂ“ those who have not really lived in the previous colonies intended for part (or most) with their lives. Nevertheless , there is a great age difference of twenty six years together. It means they own lived through different personal, cultural and social situations in The united kingdom; thus fit if the concerns and issues they place differ as well. Also their particular rendering or approach to the issues varies. When ever talking about Zadie Smith's White Teeth, it was declared she has drafted not only a postcolonial novel with an effect of Rushdie but the typical The english language novel coping with social classes and national politics of the eighties in Great britain.
